MZR SYSTEM

Metaullics zinc recovery (MZR) system effectively extracts valuable, reusable zinc from your zinc bath skimmings and top dross, prior to selling it to the open market.

The MZR system is a thermo-mechanical process that is installed at your plant site. Either gas or oil fired, this compact system is simple to operate and typically requires no special emissions permitting, The recovered zinc can put directly back into your molten zinc bath.

The amount of zinc recovered using the MZR method is on average 95% of the elemental zinc contained in the skimmings or top dross.

The remaining residual MZR ash is then sold to the open market.

Typical Cycle Time: 2.5 to 3 hours

The design of the MZR System makes it very user friendly. Typically the manpower required for a burn cycle is a total of 45 minutes. This involves loading the drum, tapping it, and removing it from the system when the cycle is complete. The duration of the heating cycle is about 2.5-3 hours.


Step 1. The cast hole on the melting drum is plugged prior to filling.	Step 2. The melting drum is filled with zinc skimmings or top dross.	Step 3. The melting drum is loaded in to the system using a forklift truck.	Step 4. The cycle is started. Typical cycle time is around 3 hours.

Step 5. The drum is stopped at a point where the cast hole can be accessed	Step 6. The fiber plug is removed from the cast hole.	Step 7. The reclaimed zinc is poured into the chilled mold.	Step 8. The zinc is allowed to cool and removed from the chiller.

A Return of Investment (ROI) analysis can be calculated based on your specific operating conditions. If the ROI looks favorable then a trial burn of your skimmings or top dross can be performed to verify zinc recovery rates and purity.
